Ive had the same problem too. Ive tried burning a PS1 game from an img and cue file but it doesnt play on my PS2. I've used the Nero to burn it & I did not get any errors during the burning process. Ive even tried it on the lowest speed.

I also have a modded PS2 and i play all my other backed-up PS2 games on this without any problem. But this time the PS1 back-up does not play. I'm not even sure if it is even possible to play PS1 back-up on a modded PS2? Can some1 please help me. Thank you kindly.

I have swap magic 3.6 and I was wondering where I could get the files that actually boot psx games for the MC exploit. I've used 2 or 3 guides now to make one and each time I put in my psx game that triggers the exploit the screen just goes black and nothing happens.So I was wondering if I could just be directed to the.elf files I need to boot psx backups so that I could just launch them within the swap magic program.Or just some general guide of playing psx backups on SM would be nice too.Thanks in advance. The flash upgrades are easy. Download it, unzip it and you get a cue and a bin file. Burn to it CD-R using Nero, CDRWIN, or Alcohol 120% the same as you would a PSX game. Load the cue file and burn it using this guide: Insert the disc in your PS2 and it auto boots, and just follow the on screen prompts. You can't play backups on the DMS 3 or 4 without flashing the chip.

Yes Imitation CD-R's could be the problem. All Imitation products are horrible, avoid them at all costs. Use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony, TDK, or Maxell CD-Rs. It worked using the PSX mode you've advised & I totally forgot about that loading since i have never played PS1 before. I've tested it on the first CD only and when i tried to used another MEmorex CD to duplicate another one, it didnt worked.

I've got like 10 coasters from those crapppy CD's. Kocom kmc 90 driver for mac free. I guess i really have to buy the good quality CD'S then. Just two more last questions, do i need a seperate 'PS One memory card' to save the game or PS2 memory card will work fine? Also does FF7 has audio or background sound at all? I'm not sure if the burning was good or not. The slowest speed i can burn on my CD-R using Nero is 8X. It does not let me burn it any slower than that or just dont know how to do it.

Thank you kindly for all the help ^^. Well I got to where I am now by backing up around 60 PSX games, I've had a TON of coasters in the process. It takes practice. I use Memorex CD-R's as well. They do suck, but they've always worked for me. Yes you need a seperate PSX memory card to save PSX games, a PS2 memory card won't work. I recommend you pick up an official Sony card, they have no compatiblity issues, unlike some 3rd party MC's.

Maybe your burner won't burn slower than 8x. Try using Alcohol or CloneCD and see if they'll let you select 4x.

Anybody have any experience or heard anything about this product?It's a hacked version of the homebrew program Import Player on a pressed CD that boots without the need for a mod chip.You can do the same thing (disk swap) with certain CD PS1 versions of the Gameshark/Codebreaker/Action Replay.When it first came out one big selling point was the 99 minute TOC it had, which you could use in conjunction with the PS2 Swap Magic disks to play certain DVD rips that were on 99 minute CDR's that wouldn't normally load (versus regular 74/80m CDR's.). I have a few cheat devices, mainly the GameShark and the Pelican one, that can boot imports as well. All you need to do is load the device, go to section that plays music CD, play the same CD while still inside the drive and immediately stop. Then swap the disc withough the machine knowing you did (hence the spring and cardboard, depending on your console) and it would play.I also have a PS-X-X-Change or whatever it is called which does the same thing.Note however that PSOne games that have multiple CDDA tracks for in-game music (like Doom), will not play properly. In most cases, you play the game without any or most background music.I never understood why this happens, perhaps something to do with each game having a different ID method or TOC?
